Unit Title: The Harlem Renaissance
Established Goals: 1. Understand the contributions of African Americans to American society in the 1920s
2. Identify the causes of the Harlem Renaissance.
3. Identify many key figures and analyze their work.

5. Identify, analyze, and compare and contrast social/political activism of the H.R.

Assessment: This unit will have various forms of assessment including observation, discussion, notes,homework, and quiz/exam. The performance assessment requires students to make a news broadcast focusing on one aspect of the Harlem Renaissance. More details about the assessment can be found within each lesson.
